Fluid was originally founded in San Luis Obispo by a nutritional biochemist and an exercise physiologist at Cal Poly State University. Fluid Recovery was introduced to the open market in early 2006, in an effort to answer the industries need for a superior quality recovery drink. Fluid founders Richard Smith and Dave Brown gained local and national attention for their research in nutritional biochemistry and their work with athletes both nationally and internationally. Today they continue their sports science research and are developing new products to diversify the Fluid line of recovery drinks. You can find the stylized Fluid logo sponsoring athletes across several sports, including: Paintball Teams, Olympic Track & Field athletes, BMX world champions, AVP volleyball players, and a professional triathlon development team.

The original mission: Fluid, Everything you need, nothing you don’t.

For more information about NEHP, Fluid:

http://www.livefluid.com/

FREESTYLE WATCH COMPANY. What began in the early 80's has stood the test of time, proving the world demands and respects a high-quality, water resistant, durable watch at a fair price. Over the years, time has taught us not to fret over the little things, rather just worry about the one thing that really matters. How durable and dependable can we make your watch? That's why every watch we make is backed by our industry leading limited lifetime warranty and depth rated to 100 meters. Bottom line, we worry about the same things you worry about and just like you we are in it for life - surf, skate, snow, wake, ski, bike, paintball, action sports, extreme sports, call it what you will, we call it life.

For more information on Freestyle:
http://www.freestyleusa.com

RETURNING SPONSORS FOR 2009:

Ambush Alpha Design Specialties, Angel Paintball Sports, Ben & Molly's Paintball Store, Hustle Paintball, Redz International, Undertakers Tactical Paintball.

Please stay tuned to www.mbpmilitia.com for more exciting updates on the 2009 season and for updates to our website - all coming soon!

MBP Militia's Formal Resignation From JSOC

July 18, 2008
PRESS RELEASE

MBP Militia's Formal Resignation From JSOC

It is with regret that I announce the formal resignation of MBP Militia from the JSOC. This is a decision the team has been discussing and contemplating for some time now. With the current reform the JSOC is currently undergoing, MBP Militia decided unanimously that it was time to leave the organization.

MBP Militia joined the JSOC during its first season as a team, back in 2006; we were among the first to join the organization outside of the founding members. We want to make clear that we appreciate the friendships and success that some of us have shared through the organization. However, due to internal concerns, scheduling conflicts, sponsorships and game producer requests, we desire the freedom in the future to play for any side we wish/need to play on. As everyone knows, the needs of the team must overshadow the needs of the organization in general and at this time that is entirely the case. We wish you all the best and want to thank everyone, especially Hercules for the support over the years.

Thank you for your time,

Tom Bolton
Captain
MBP Militia

THE ANGEL FLY IS BACK

SUNDAY, JULY 6, 2008
PRESS RELEASE

THE ANGEL FLY IS BACK

The highly anticipated release date of the new Angel A1 Fly has finally arrived. MBP Militia and the Angel family are extremely excited about the revolutionary marker from Angel Paintball Sports.

"Our entire team has been looking forward to the release of this marker for some time now and we are happy the day is finally here," explained Tom "Noodles The Great" Bolton, Captain of MBP Militia.

Tom went on to add, "I truly believe the new Magno Valve will set the standard for air efficiency in high performance makers."

Some quick facts about the new Angel A1 Fly:

Reliable - thoroughly field tested by Stockholm Joy Division during the 2007 NPPL and Millennium tournaments and to devastating effect in early 2008 Millenniums.

Lighter – Angel designers and engineers have tried to remove as much material as possible - without compromising the structural integrity and typical design flair of the FLY.

Faster - cycling speed, because the lighter hammer reacts even faster.

Lower Operating Pressure - even more gentle on paint

More Efficient - 1800 + shots per 68cu" due to the all new Magno Valve

Less Recoil – due to the lighter hammer which aids in reducing reciprocating mass.

Greater Accuracy – the lighter hammer results in considerably less recoil and increased accuracy.

Improved Traction Control – all new fly paper creates even more stability - improved feel and touch in wet greasy conditions – replaceable inserts in the important gun/player interface areas.

Zero Lateral Trigger Movement – all new trigger and trigger retention mechanism - NEW super-lightweight blade style trigger incorporates the standard ANGEL four way adjustability and the NEW mounting mechanism which results in absolutely ZERO lateral movement.

New In Line Regulator - now features a standard thread regulator mount which allows you easy access to the regulator internals for easy servicing and maintenance.

Even Kinder on Fragile Paint - completely re-designed valve system - the Magno Valve uses magnetic repulsion to assist in valve closure. The advantages being lower pressure operation. Couple this with the incredible KISS Technology and the FLY will shoot more fragile paint than any other marker on the planet.

Re- Designed Micro-Arm Lever Lock Feed Tube Clamp - lighter and smaller and less likely to be inadvertently snagged open.

Composite Barrel Tip – super light, super accurate composite barrel tip by SLY.

Three Piece Eye Cover Straps – colour co-ordinated,

Be sure to stop by http://www.angelpaintballsports.com/ and check out the new Angel A1 Fly today!

MBP Militia Resigns with Angel

JANUARY 2008
PRESS RELEASE:

MBP Militia is proud to continue its relationship with Angel Paintball Sports.

After a very successful 2007 season with WDP Angel, MBP Militia of southern New Jersey, renewed their contract with Angel Paintball Sports for the 2008 paintball season.

MBP Militia looks forward to continued success with Angel Paintball Sports and the Angel 1 marker. WDP set up a trade booth and also supplied free technical assistance by Mark Costa, owner of Impact Paintball, for anyone who was shooting an Angel marker of which there was a surprising number (although only a couple of players needed help on the day). Along with WDP, Tippmann attended in force with a huge trailer and plenty of hot scenario products to spice up the event as was Pogo from the Killer Clown Posse who brought with him the awesome paintball arrow. A few other vendors were offering their wares throughout the event.

The game officially began at 11am with the Canadian Contingent masterminding the defense of the castle walls with help from Angel sponsored teams Ragnarok and MBP Militia amongst others. I myself participated and was on hand to help defend the castle against a four to one ratio of attackers including our very own Angel sponsored team B.I.T.M who were excited with the opportunity to break through and hunt me down like a pack of wolves. The game is simple enough, which helped me as I was a scenario virgin until now! The defenders were split into teams and were to defend the castle walls on both levels with a smaller force inside the courtyard to prevent the attackers from storming through the doors. If the attackers broke through and captured any number of props inside the castle walls the game was over and the attackers won, if the defenders held off the attackers for five hours the defenders won. Eliminations on both sides were continuous but a short stay in the dead box and players were soon re-inserted to join the action. In the past twenty four Castle Conquest games the castle has only ever been defended twice and for good reason. I have never played a game of paintball where the pressure has been as relentless as this one. The defenders were under constant pressure with the attackers besieging the castle walls within a half hour from the start of the game. There were numerous occasions throught the day when the castle was about to fall but the defenders constantly rallied round and plugged the holes. The last half hour produced a major advancement by the attackers and I have never experienced a game with so many paintballs being fired at such close quarters, the adrenaline rush was outstanding. By the time the final whistle blew and the last shots were fired the defenders soon realized that they had been successful and gave out a great cheer of victory.

EMR Paintball Park has an impressive set up that includes some thirty plus bunk houses and a club house. The bunk houses can sleep up to eight people and can be rented per event or by the year. Many teams have opted to have them by the year and have spent a great deal of time and effort to make them a home from home. Team B.I.T.M is one such team and I have to say that their bunk house was the most impressive and included a full size canopy decking area built to the highest standard. After the days play on Saturday and the usual massive free prize giveaway (a normal occurrence at EMR) it seemed that all the players converged towards the bunkhouses with one intention, have a huge bonfire party and share stories with one another on the days events. The beer flowed and stories re-enacted with passion. My hat goes off to Andy “pizzaman” from Team B.I.T.M who made his way into the wild on Friday afternoon armed only with a bow and arrow and hunted down a small deer for the BBQ. Shame he could not hunt me down during the game but who knows…….there is always next time!

A big thank you to all the players who attended for making this without a doubt the best game that I have ever played in fifteen years of paintball. A special thanks to Mark Costa for taking care of the booth (and myself), to George and the guys from Ragnarok, to MBP Militia, Brian Fessey and the guys from B.I.T.M for their outstanding humor and hospitality, for Jose and Richard from the X-Men and Digger from the 13th Legionnaires for taking the time to talk to me about Angel sponsorship, come join the family!

Alas the event would not have been as great as it was with a castle and players alone. A massive thanks to Blue and the Blue’s crew who made running a huge scenario day seem so easy, to the referees who constantly made it through the thick of the action taking countless hits to assist the players. I have a great respect for these guys and the job that they did, their sole purpose was to keep people safe and happy and conducted themselves with pride and dignity……..a team within a team. With the recent problems with referees in major national events it was a relief to see referees of that standard; you boys could demand a high price at those events and be worth every penny. Final thanks to Andy Potter, the vendor liaison at EMR for making me feel welcome and running the air tent……..4500psi fills every time with no queues, thank you all.

For more information about EMR Paintball Park and up coming games please visit their website at; www.emrpaintball.comFor information on joining the Angel Army as a prized sponsored team e-mail: eezo@wdp.tv

MBP and Understood Come to Terms on Sponsorship

Press Release:
For Immediate Release

MBP Militia Announces Sponsorship Agreement with Understood Clothing

MBP Militia is pleased to announce a sponsorship agreement with Understood Clothing.

Understood offers an exciting line of apperal and clothing that aid in accomodating a player's needs on and off the field in a fashionable way. This event takes place twice a year at EMR, once in the spring and once in the fall. The actual game-play of the event is centered around the 30,000 square foot Castle AAARRGH, where attackers attempt to over-take the enormous Castle from the defenders with some of the most intense and in-your-face paintball a player could ever imagine.

The game began on Saturday morning around 11am with the Canadian Contingent leading the defense with 4 to 1 odds in favor of Team Voodoo and the other attacking teams. Canadian Contingent were joined by Team Ragnarok, MBP Militia, Ferrymen Paintball and Maltese Militia to name a few. Along with Team Voodoo some of the attacking teams were Joint Fury, Pub Crawling and Delta Paintball Team. The defending teams immediately set up a strong perimeter around the Castle walls and some players even ventured out into the nearby "Tippmann Town" to slow the expected surge of attackers from reaching the Castle easily. "PURE PAINTBALL INSANITY" would ensue shortly after the game began as it didn't take players very long to engage in combat.

As the game went on the attackers kept steady pace in attempting to breach the Castle walls, but the Canadian Contingent had an excellent strategy in place and the defenders fought diligently all day in repelling the oncoming assault. By 1pm on Saturday the fighting around the outside of the Castle got so intense that it could be heard from across the paintball park. The attackers tried their best to put enough pressure on the Castle entrances so that they could overtake it, but failed over and over again. At approximately 2pm on Saturday, the attackers still had not overtaken the Castle, in fact, they had not even secured a single holding point or prop within its walls, therefore, the game was called.

The defenders had done the unthinkable and stopped the attacking onslaught all day. The game officially ended with referee whistles being sounded and the roaring cheer of victory from the defenders inside the Castle. The victory was bittersweet for the defenders knowing the odds were stacked against them 4 to 1 and realizing the extensive talent in the teams that had been attacking them for three straight hours.

Overall, it was a day for the record books at EMR Paintball Park. The group of defenders were only the fifth group in EMR's long history to defend Castle AAARGHH successfully. Also, the group was only the second group to ever shut out the attackers in a victory (gave up no props during the game).

MBP Militia would like to personally thank Blue, Sue, Deuce, the EMR staff, the EMR home teams and the referees at EMR Paintball Park for assisting and putting together such an enjoyable and memorable event. The entire team is grateful for their experience at EMR and are looking forward to returning to EMR soon.

For more information on EMR Paintball Park or Castle Conquest please visit: www.emrpaintball.com

Press Release: MBP Militia signs with WDP

MBP Militia is pleased to announce that they have signed a sponsorship agreement with WDP to shoot the Angel One paintball marker for the duration of the 2007 season. As a result of the success and dedication of the sales-operation, MBP Militia soon-after came to an agreement for dealer's rights to sell and distribute Redz International products.

When asked what the Redz Dealer Rights meant for MBP Militia, Chris Whitesell (MBP Militia member) responded promptly stating, "Obtaining the Redz Dealer Rights shows how much we have grown as a team in the last year. Troops were to remove all patches and insignia, knowing that if they are captured or killed, the U.S. will not acknowledge their involvement or the existence of any soldiers in, or plots against, any country in South America. The Cartels hired mercenaries and independent contractors knowing the U.S. soldiers would soon be inserted into Bogata, Columbia.

The U.S. soldier's tasks included setting up camp and bases of operation. They were also to train the local population to defend themselves against the drug cartel armies. The drug cartels are known as ruthless men who have a lack of respect for human life. Roaming the countryside, the cartel's army imposes it's will on the local population by having it's way with the local women, pillaging villages, and murdering at will, feeling unstoppable and unopposed.

For this scenario, MBP Militia alligned themselves with paintball powerhouses - Blue's Crew and Delta Paintball Team to man the drug cartel's army. On the U.S. side notables, such as: STC, Hashido and several other independent American soldiers enlisted to rid Columbia of the ruthless drug cartels. Despite being outmanned in most situations, the drug cartels (right from the get-go) bombarded the U.S. soldiers with overwhelming fire-power and drowned out the threat imposed upon their native lands. The final battle of the event featured the greatest push by the U.S. soldiers and was one hell of a fire-fight, but once again the drug cartel rose-up and fought off the threat with superior force driving the American soldiers out of Columbia once and for all.

For more information on The War On Drugs scernaro game or KBAR Paintball Productions visit www.kbarpaintballproductions.com

TTPL TRIAL GAMES

On Saturday April 14, 2007 a new chapter in tactical paintball history was written.

Over the past few months members from teams, such as: The Undertakers, MBP Militia, Gods of War, Reservoir Dogs and Hooligan Tactical Squad (all in the JSOC [Joint Special Operations Command]) have been commuting to Accurate Paintball to construct a new field. This field would play host to a paintball league unlike any other. This league is called the Tactical Ten Paintball League.

The league strays from speedball and recreational paintball, but isn’t scenario either; it is a new type of playing format that concentrates on fast-paced tactical warfare. The league was founded in the fall of 2006 by the Undertakers Tactical Paintball Team and is backed by RAP4. The main goal of the league is to create a paintball format as close to real warfare as possible and in doing so attracting teams from all over the country to compete for the coveted title of “best of the best.” The league also emphasizes “close quarter combat.” The JSOC SWAT house is a structure that allows the close quarter combat to take place. This building is located directly in the center of the field and inside is a maze of doors and walls to carefully maneuver through, creating the ultimate scenario for in your face paintball mayhem.

The league’s trail run games took place on April 14th and in November 2007 the regular competition will kick-off. The inaugural games will all be played in NJ, but by 2008 the league planning to expand to several states around the country.

The trial run games were everything the Tactical Ten League could have hoped for. Several teams came out to play including Reservoir Dogs, Gods Of War, Team Wacata, Shadow Group, 13th Legionnaires, Cursed Company, and Hooligan Tactical Squad. Also, in support of the league The Undertakers ran the show behind the scenes, while MBP Militia, Kole (Captain) of the Midnight Raiders and several Undertakers members helped referee the games as well.

As official referees of the Tactical Ten Paintball League MBP Militia can personally vouch for the realism of the games and close quarter combat that took place inside the JSOC SWAT House. Marc “Backwoods” Bolton of MBP Militia stated, “The action inside the SWAT house was definitely the highlight of the event.”

Tom “Noodles The Great” Bolton also commented on the league saying, “I was one of the head referees for the event and just judging by the paint-covered players exiting the field, I can tell you the battles taking place were incredibly intense to say the least.”

After a full-day of hard fought combat Shadow Group from North Carolina walked away as the winners of the trial games. All of the teams that participated in the trial games were very pleased with the format and realism that they experienced and were excited about the regular competition that begins in November.

The Tactical Ten Paintball League is currently sponsored by: RAP4, PYRO Paintball, Yukon, Ambush Alpha, Animal Paintball, Undertakers and Accurate Paintball.

For more information on the Tactical Ten Paintball League visit: www.tacten.com

CIVIL WAR

The following story is a day by day account of the "North vs South" Civil War event hosted by Pyro Paintball Productions. Over the summer we worked hard as a team to practice, gain more recognition, become organized and land a few great sponsorships along the way. We dedicated ourselves to fight in the Civil War along side the JSOC on the North Side right at the end of June. As a result of our roots with the JSOC, our sponsorship with The Undertakers and frequent communication with our General Hercules "The Hitman" we were handed down the assignment of base-security (a huge role in this war). Basically we were to defend the General and our capital city of Fort Sumpter at all costs and so the story begins....

Friday:
Most of our team arrived at USANA between Friday afternoon-late Friday evening, where we set up camp for the weekend, and met up with some of our officers and friends from the North as well. Friday night we also had a few top secret missions before the war even started, which I am not at the liberty to divulge at this moment. All in all Friday was definitely a fun (yet hectic at times) evening.

Saturday:
The next morning we woke up quite early to greet our General and meet up with most of the Northern Army for the North's VIP meeting. After being briefed, and receiving specific instructions it was time to gear up and hit the field for what was to be known as "Blood and Guts" a Civil War line battle, and also the General and XO pistol duels. I'll tell you these events were pretty intense to start off the war. The North won the pistol duels, but due to being extremely out manned we lost the line battle. However, MBP Militia was there to fight to the last man, literally. The last 4 men in the Northern Army alive were from MBP Militia, including: myself, Marc, Mike and Shaggy - who was the last brave soul standing. After this beginning battle we headed right to Fort Sumpter, which was the North's capital city. As soon as we got to Fort Sumpter a few groups fanned out to retrieve some money bags, which would be used for supplies and bartering with the Tyrell Corporation ("3rd Party Carpet Baggers"). Mike, Hanley and I formed one group that instantaneously took off in pursuit of a couple money bags, obtained them quickly, and then reported back to base. Upon returning Hercules gave me the order to set up base security and establish an outer perimeter. Within minutes we had the base secured and a pretty sound/staggered outer perimeter in place. Timing was everything at this point because almost directly after the base was secured there were shots heard in the distance and word of the rebel force advancing soon came from up the road. Before we knew it the South was striking our base with full force, but we held them off for hours. Ultimately being outnumbered caught up with us and despite our heavy resistance we were pushed out of the base for about an hour. The North eventually regrouped and alongside the massive firepower of Blue's Crew we pushed the South out of the base and took it back. There were a few more skirmishes that pushed us to the very back perimeters of our capital city, but again we regrouped during theses fights and pushed the South back again. This would be the last time they would push us from Fort Sumpter. The day seemed to be flying by and word was getting around that we were down by a lot of points already, as the South was controlling the field for most of the day. As a result, we began to lean heavily towards fanning out and getting as many missions done as possible, such as, taking the strategic points of Gettysburg, Bull Run, the Southern Field Hospital and poisoning the Southern water supply. Dinner break was now approaching and it seemed as if the tides had slowly changed in our favor. We were indeed beginning to reach objectives/missions again and word came over the radio that Hercules with his bodyguards Izzy and Greg, our XO Kodak, Jack from the Midnight Raiders and a handful of others from MBP Militia and Undertakers had taken the Southern Field Hospital and with the help of a Blue's Crew cover fire they poisoned the South's water supply as well. We then headed into the night game with a full head of steam.

Saturday Night:
After dinner break was over it was time for the infamous night portion of the war. We gathered as many as we could for another briefing before the night time battle, and it became incredibly evident that we were severely shorthanded. There were no more than 20 of the Northern Army on the field at one time compared to the South who had 100 of their players still active on the field, including some with full night vision (Knight Stalkers). None the less, this would not swing our determination. We now had the momentum of the game in our grasp and pulled together what seemed to be a small portion of the JSOC to face the entire Southern Army. This time we started from the field hospital that we recently took control of near Gettysburg. Almost immediately after the game restarted we began to take control of the field, hitting them hard from all angles. We stuck to our game plan to attack in small packs, almost like wolves stalking then assaulting prey, it proved to be very effective. In fact, the General himself had assembled a group of assassins which included Undertakers and MBP Militia members, their target: the South General. Towards the end of the night game Dennis, Whitesell and I found ourselves manning the 13th Legionnaires tank, which was en route to the Atlanta premises. Also taking place in Atlanta as we arrived with the tank was an all out assault on the Southern players; we had taken over their base and raised the Union Flag for big points. At the very end of the game word got out that the unthinkable happened: Hercules had succeeded and taken out the Southern General. Most of us were in disbelief, but it was confirmed and we rejoiced, knowing this would be huge in our comeback hopes. Not only was it dark on the battlefield but it seemed as if the sun had also set on the South's dominance of the war.

Sunday:
We arouse early on Sunday morning and met up with Hercules and what was left of the Northern Army for another briefing before the war resumed. Although, we had more players back for the day game, it was still quite evident that we were again undermanned. The entire Northern Army consisted of: The Undertakers, MBP Militia, Gods of War, Blue's Crew, 13th Legionnaires, and Wacata (sorry if I forgot anybody, but if there was anyone else it was maybe a handful at most). Short handed we may have been, but we were up for the task. We manned up with every last person we had and started off once again at Fort Sumpter. Knowing now that we were still behind on points, our goal was to complete as many missions as we could and take back as many of the strategic locations as possible, also known as: Bull Run and Gettysburg. That being said, we had to really spread our forces thin because we were shorthanded to begin with. Once again, the South began the day game coming strong at our base and since Hercules and our XO Kodak from the Hellrazorz, had already gone out into the field to regain points, I was basically left in charge to protect the base with about ten soldiers. On top of that more than half of my team, MBP Militia, was out in the field to try and even things up, so now base security seemed more fragile than ever, but as out gunned as we were during the South's offensive, we would not fold. I remember thinking to myself, "This is it, we have no reinforcements coming to help us out; we must hold this base and not retreat under any circumstance" and we held our ground. One of the most intense and hellacious fire fights I have ever experienced took place defending Fort Sumpter, but we stood strong and held them off permanently. That was the last time the South would challenge our Fort Sumpter. Good news was coming in over the radio as the day went on, that we were doing real damage in key locations on the field and really taking the fight to the South. By this time it was getting close to noon and word came back to base from Hercules, that there was a massive firefight going on at Bull Run. A bit later more news came back that we took Bull Run and held it for more points. Now it was about one o'clock and the radios started to light up as our plan was before the game to move to Atlanta once the clock struck one.

Sunday Late Afternoon (Armageddon):
It was time for the siege of Atlanta. We needed to move the supply train down to Atlanta, which Marc, Mausner and Hanley had retrieved earlier in the day at record speed. It was no easy task to transport the soon to be mobile medic unit to Atlanta but we eventually got it there. Time was of the essence, and everyone was dividing up to try and breach the walls of Atlanta. The South had it tightly locked down, and it was very difficult to contravene their borders. We had some of my teammates from MBP Militia, such as, Marc, Jay, and Dennis, members of team Wacata and a handful of others on the far side of their base trying to flank them from the woods. Meanwhile we had Mausner who was out of ammo and gun-less, single-handedly pushing the supply train further up the road to Atlanta, as well as Shaggy, Mike, Greg, Hanley and myself running and gunning up and down the road trying to find a way in. We were joined by the Undertakers, Blue's Crew, 13th Legionnaires and assorted others all pushing up the main road. Once Jack and Kodak took out the last of the Confederate tanks (artillery units) with the law rocket, we were able to get the mobile medic unit/supply train further into Atlanta and that's when we really began to drive into their capital city. Along with Blue's Crew I personally ran into Atlanta quite a few times in an attempt to sack the capital, but to no avail. With time dwindling away quickly, Hercules called me over and gave me the order to get as many as I could together and geared up because we were going to make one last massive push to take Atlanta. At this point it looked like it was raining because there was paint pouring from the sky and all around us, that's how thick the battle was. Still we couldn't get inside Atlanta, so I walked up to the front lines once more and grabbed Mike and Greg by the shoulder telling them, with about 5-10 minutes left, that we were going to take their main fort inside the city, they looked at me as if I was insane. Before anyone realized what was going on I took off and they followed. Mike got lit up quickly, but Greg and I squeaked by and assaulted everyone in that base with a reign a fury I didn't know we were capable of. Almost simultaneously as we entered the base team Wacata, Jay from MBP Militia and a couple others came in from the other side of the woods and we raised the Union Flag proudly. Unfortunately due to time restraints, this was the only fort we were able to take in Atlanta before the game ended.

Post Game:
When the war officially concluded, those who could still stand walked off the battlefield. For the Northern side, we knew we fought our hearts out, but there was still that thought in the back of our minds that we may not have done enough to come away with the victory. At the post game ceremony the official score was announced, and although we had taken the fight to them from Saturday night through Sunday and built one of the most historic comebacks ever, the South had prevailed and was awarded a well deserved victory. Next the Generals awarded their MVTs and MVPs. For the North MBP Militia received the Most Valuable Team award and Angel from Gods of War took MVP. Jack from Midnight Raiders also walked away with Most Valuable Medic award. Congratulations to all. After the ceremony we were invited to a photo shoot with the other MVP's and our General and XO, which lasted a few hours and was pretty neat to be a part of. Look out for our mugs in the media soon! Honestly, coming into a large event like this we never expected to obtain the MVT award but we were certainly very proud and grateful for it, as we worked incredibly hard to achieve the honor. Perhaps even more rewarding was all the praise we received from the players, some of the refs and even the event staff about how great we played, the effort we put forth and how hard we worked the entire weekend for the North. Some even went on to say that we deserved the award hands down, which was really nice to hear. Despite the loss of the war, it really felt good to be acknowledged like that by our peers and people that we truly respect in the paintball world. All in all "North vs. South" Civil War was an incredible weekend of battle. I feel we walk away from it with a great amount of dignity, experience and pride as we look forward to competing again soon.

MBP Militia: We may have lost the war but we won every battle we were engaged in. We fought like warrior poets: Marc Bolton, Tom Bolton, Jay Clark, Steve Hanley, Mike Jaconetti, Dennis Link, Justin Mausner, Mike Monaghan, Chris Whitesell, and Greg Wirth.

A CALL TO ARMS

The following is an actual account of the "Battle of Saigon." Courtesy of MBP Militia's Captain, Tom Bolton; June 10-11, 2006. Written on June 12th, 2006, the day after the event.

To start off.... WOW! This was most likely the sickest experience of my life to date. Now that it's a day after, I can sit back and try to reflect on the warfare we went through at Saigon, it was pretty intense and incredible.
Despite some setbacks, we arrived at USANA around 1 am on Friday and set up camp. We wound up getting to sleep probably around 2-3am and got woken up by Jack (Czarnota) at 6 am instead of 6:30! But it was for the best.... because we were all registered at headquarters and ready for action hours ahead of schedule. After pounding down some energy drinks and some quick food we soon heard the helicopters and tanks beginning to head into battle, soon we would be at the front line waiting for the orders to enter.

The table was set for an insane weekend when we got the orders to use the 3rd insertion point instead of the 1st (the main one). So picture our group of 13 plus maybe 5 others who joined us randomly headed into the deepest part of the woods with no idea what to expect; except a strong enemy with overwhelming numbers and already positioned for attack, basically we walked into an ambush. That didn't stop us from advancing 1/2 way to their capital within an hour causing all kinds of havoc on the way. We got past "Hamburger Hill" and eventually were surrounded and shutdown due largely in part to idiotic refs closing off our exit point, so we fought till the last man with no where to fall back to.

All in all, we fought like warrior poets all day Saturday and did alot of damage to the VC. However, due in large part to a scattered American Army, the VC beat us down. Around 7pm on Saturday the tides turned though, news from around the American Camp was that we had pushed the VC back to the Burms near Hamburger Hill (a key area to the war) and totally out and away from Saigon (our capital city). Not to mention the completion of many missions, including a ground shaking explosion, which happened to be a WMD blowing apart much of the VC army and their General.

Around nightfall our group once again took it upon ourselves to lead a platoon deep into the woods this time to Hanoi (VC capital). We got as far as we could along the railroad until the road was blocked off so we decided to trek through the woods instead. We wound up sniping out some VC and took back the refinery for the American side but were soon turned away by several night-time snipers. We exited the woods lucky to be alive, but soon joined back up with the American Army in the pitch dark to defend Saigon which was being overtaken by VC. Let me tell you, the night time battles were some of the most intimidating experiences I've ever encountered. There were more friendly-fire kills than anything else and you couldn't see more than two feet in front of you. Basically you shoot what moves; imagine an all out firefight at the forefront of the battlefield, yea it was insane. Not to mention, once again snipers in guillie suits equipped with night vision that were creepin around the tree line picking people off one by one with one shot head kills. I was one of those unfortunate victims, Scott (Pagnotti) and I actually got shot in the same exact spot in the face within 20 minutes of one another.

Saturday night ended with Saigon being swarmed with VC. The cease fire was drawn around 1:30-2am, but once again when Sunday morning came and the fighting resumed we began kicking the living hell outta the VC again. Despite them sending their entire army to try and take over Saigon, and after wave after wave and push after push from overwhelming VC forces, we held them off. It was a really rough couple of days and many were injured during battle including Greg who was taken to the hospital after taking a severe headshot. Greg is being reccommended to receive the Purple Heart for his service and injury in that battle. MBP Militia fought extremely well all weekend, but by this point in the war we were beginning to be recognized for our hard work. Infact word was going around that the VC was saying, "damn that MBP is holding their own out there" and "whichever team that was, they stuck together and they held it down over there." Other teams were also asking me for our team information and web address and such, it makes you proud after a while, especially since this was our first scenario event ever together.

In the end it was announced that the VC had taken the War by the slimest of margins, just like in the real Vietnam I suppose. This was kind of hard to understand for some of us since information was being spread around that we killed their general and commanding officers. Not to mention held off Saigon, and completed many missions. I smell a rematch and a second tour of duty next Spring!

All in All it was quite an experience and I want to thank all the members of MBP Militia for working so well together, fighting tooth & nail all weekend, spilling blood and scarificing ourselves while going all out for victory.

MBP Militia: "MVT (shared) at Saigon 2006."
